‘Preserve Seychelles’ urges all Seychellois to stand united amid COVID-19 |17 April 2020

‘Preserve Seychelles’ is urging all and sunder to put aside politics and all the things that bring division among us as a nation and to stand united and in solidarity with each other in order to overcome these most uncertain and difficult times we’re going through.

‘Preserve Seychelles’ says this in a message released yesterday. The full text of the message reads:

“’Preserve Seychelles’ joins forces with each and every Seychellois during this most uncertain period of time that we face due to the pandemic that is wreaking havoc upon the whole world!

“Our lifestyle has made it so that socialising is engrained within our culture. However, with this pandemic, we are being asked to stay at home, which means a disruption in our social routines. For many this is a great challenge!

“Dear brothers and sisters, let us think of the future of our beautiful Seychelles; of our future. Even if it is a sacrifice, let us put things into force by listening and following the advices and laws being put forward by the concerned authorities! As being told, let us stay at home if we do not have anything of utmost importance to do outside the home!

“It is imperative that laws and guidance given to us are respected and followed! By deliberately choosing to go against the given guidelines, we are not contributing towards fighting against this pandemic!

“Let us considerately think of the health officers, law enforcement officers and all those who are on the frontline in the fight against this pandemic. Let us do our part in order to alleviate the stress and load from their shoulders. We take this opportunity to not only thank those standing on the frontline, but also convey to them, their families and Seychelles as a whole much strength!

“Let us put aside politics, and all the things that bring division among us as a nation. Let us stand united and in solidarity with each other in order to overcome these most uncertain and difficult times.

“Let us take our responsibility upon ourselves and do our part; stay at home, stay safe!

“Help preserve the future of our Seychelles!”
