Man gets 8 years for aiding and abetting in drug trafficking case

 

The Supreme Court on Monday convicted Dominic Dugasse, a 41-year-old male casual labourer of Corgat Estate (a second accused in a drug case) to eight years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to the offence of aiding and abetting the trafficking in of 447.45 grammes of heroin (37.5% pure heroin).

Dugasse was arrested on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at the Providence Industrial Estate by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) of the Seychelles Police Force after a 32-year-old sales girl of Ile Perseverance 1 was arrested by ANB officers at the Mahé Inter Island Quay in possession of the mentioned drug which was claimed to be for Dominic Dugasse.

As for the sales girl (the first accused in this case), her trial will commence next week on July 2, 2020.
