Winners of the ‘My Life My Yoga’ video blogging contest organised by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), government of India to promote yoga in the day-to-day lives of individuals, have received their prizes.

This was during a short ceremony at the High Commission of India on Friday.

‘My Life My Yoga’ video blogging contest is a global contest and the High Commission of India in Seychelles organised the local chapter of the contest in which it received tremendous participation and response from people from all walks of life, thus showcasing the enormous popularity of yoga in Seychelles.

The contest was held in six categories: youth male, youth female, adult male, adult female, professional male and professional female. In each category three prizes were awarded. The first prize carries an award of R2,000, second prize R1,500 and third prize R1,200. The winners were selected by a panel of three judges who made their independent evaluation. They were the chairman of JeoJyoti Foundation and yoga enthusiast Surya Khanna, yoga teacher Dr Lalita Sancheti and second secretary Harsh Chirania.

The winners from Seychelles have qualified to take part in the global round with prizes of up to US $2,500 to be won.
