Anse Reunion end season with victory
La Digue-based Anse Reunion completed their 2019-2020 league campaign on a positive note with a 3-0 victory over Praslin outfit Revengers at Stad Amitié on Wednesday afternoon.
Anse Reunion took the lead in this match through their top scorer, Malagasy Iavo, who netted in the 18th minute for a 1-0 lead at half-time.
The players of coach Basil Hoareau increased their advantage in the 80th minute when Stenio Ernesta got on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 and Darius Cedras sealed this comfortable triumph with a third goal on the stroke of full time for a 3-0 final scoreline which was much appreciated by the former Revengers coach Basil Hoareau who is in his first season with this La Digue squad.
“It was a good result overall though we made a cagey first half but improved in the second period where we created numerous chances and it has been a difficult season with the break due to the Covid pandemic, but we are just glad we participated to conclude this campaign,” Anse Reunion coach Hoareau told Sports NATION.
As for Revengers coach Neddy Rose, he felt his team should have got a better return from this match especially after a good first half.
“It was a decent performance in the first half, but we failed to take our chances and allowed our opponents to get the upper hand in the second half. Now we must aim for a better result in our next match against St Louis,” the Revengers coach explained.
