Poet Magie Faure-Vidot honoured by Motivational Strips and Gujarat Sahitya Academy

Seychellois poet Magie Faure-Vidot, who is also popularly known as Maggie Vijay Kumar, is honoured with Prashamshith Pathr (certificate of honour) from the world’s most active writers forum ‘Motivational Strips’ and India Government’s premier literary institution ‘Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’.

Magie Faure is the most prominent poet living in Seychelles. She is also a member of the Institut Académique de Paris and the Académie Internationale de Lutèce. She has won numerous prizes over the course of her career, including the Coupe de la Ville de Paris, a Lyre d'honneur, The Peacock oPinion Award from Motivational Strips, six silver and numerous bronze medals in various international literary competitions.

She has been writing vivid poetry from a young age in English, French and Creole. She currently serves as the regional director ‒ East Africa and Asia for Motivational Strips.

Magie Faure has become a role model to all her fellow writers, by having won an international award of such stature from two gigantic literary institutions.

Motivational Strips is today the world’s most active writers’ forum and listed in Google. It’s the most loved platform by world’s prominent and qualitative writers. It has writers from a whopping 163 countries which almost covers every geographic location on earth. The monthly visitors to its site crosses 7.5 million.

For the first time in literary history, Motivational Strips has collaborated with India government’s ‘Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’ (under the state government of Gujarat) during India’s 74th Independence Day, to honour and felicitate 350 poets and writers from 80 countries. This is the first time two world popular literary entities have merged together to identify national and international talents.

The award has been stated by most news media outlets as the top, a writer can ever obtain in a lifetime. The selection procedure has been stringent and only the best talented and popular poets and writers were chosen for the awards.

The founder of Motivational Strips, Shiju H. Pallithazheth has applauded Seychelles’ writers as well Magie Faure Vidot for making a mark in global literature. Chairman of ‘Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’, Dr Vishnu Pandya states “this moment will remain historic in world literature”.

Magie Faure continues to inspire the world readers by setting a benchmark in poetry worldwide. She is also the chief editor of SIPAY, a decade old literary journal which was recently endorsed by the Seychelles government as national literary asset. The magazine is affiliated with Motivational Strips for global coverage and presence. Magie Faure has also been highlighted by BBC News as a feature, owing to the multiple contributions of her to world poetry. She keeps enthralling world literary enthusiasts with more glory year on year. This award definitely remains as a crown to her literary career owing to the two world respected literary institutions behind its formation.
