Judiciary to activate second phase of Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan |04 January 2021
Due to the new measures announced by the President and the Public Health Authority, the Judiciary has found it necessary to activate the second phase of the Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan.
Please note that we will remain in the court vacation mode until January 13, 2021. This means that there will be no formal re-opening of the Supreme Court until further notice.
All cases before the Court of Appeal scheduled for Tuesday January 5 has been adjourned until further notice.
All Supreme Court cases listed on the cause list for this week will be taken on Monday January 4 at 9.30am by Judge Burhan. All remands will be taken via video link on the same day.
All Magistrates Court cases listed on the cause list for this week will be taken by Magistrate Burian on Monday January 4 at 8.30am. All remands will be taken via video link on the same day.
Apostilles will be done on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only until further notice.
All Courts and Tribunals will only be taking extremely urgent matters during the week.
All counsels are advised that in case they do not wish to appear for their cases listed on the cause list, they will be excused.
The library will remain closed for counsels during this period.
Anyone who do not have anything to do within the court premises are advised not to come onto these premises.
It is compulsory to wear your mask while in the building and to sanitize your hands upon entering the building.
In case you have any Covid-19 symptoms, please refrain from entering the building.
While inside the building, please avoid going to other locations except those where you really need to go.
While inside the building, please as much as possible avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily, avoid holding the railings and avoid using the lift.
