Newly accredited Hungarian ambassador pays courtesy call on National Assembly speaker

Speaker Mancienne and Ambassador Mészáros exchanging gifts

Newly accredited Ambassador for Hungary to the Republic of Seychelles, Zsolt Mészáros, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne yesterday afternoon.

Speaker Mancienne was accompanied by the deputy Speaker, Hon. Gervais Henrie and the clerk, Tania Isaac.

Speaker Mancienne welcomed and congratulated the ambassador on his accreditation and said he was glad to make his acquaintance.

Ambassador Mészáros was eager to give a brief explanation on the history of the House of the Hungarian Parliament and also took the opportunity to share a few informative books about the parliament to the speaker, deputy speaker and the clerk.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mészáros and Speaker Mancienne discussed the achievements of Seychelles in the tourism and fisheries industries and how important it is to keep these two sectors profitable.

The ambassador also took the opportunity to converse on possible areas of cooperation including the issue of drug rehabilitation and parliamentary exchanges between the two parliaments.

The ambassador ended his visit to the National Assembly by meeting with the leader of the opposition, Hon. Sebastien Pillay along with the chief whip of the United Seychelles caucus, Hon. Sylvanne Lemiel. Hon. Pillay and Hon. Lemiel had fruitful exchanges with the ambassador.
