‘Memwar’ stays at number one

The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation’s Paradise FM charts is nothing short of excitement week in, week out and this week was like every other, with hit after hit competing for top spot.

This week saw ‘Memwar’ by MV featuring Omega & Riggid on top of the charts. The fan favourite has persisted on the charts over the past six weeks securing the number one spot for two weeks. Selvin Cesar’s ‘Dan en Milyon’ secured second position, after having been number one for three of the eight weeks it has featured on the chart show.

Despite having been on the charts for 10 weeks, ‘Lafimen’ by Lauren is yet to secure the crown, but made it to number three this week. Mercenary’s ‘Miss Photogenic’, also on the charts for 10 weeks, this week made fifth spot, although it had its time in the spotlight, after fans voted it to number one spot over three weeks.

Gospel songs, although not as common as the other genres featured on the charts, remain a fan favourite. The fourth spot was this week secured by Nene with ‘I Praise you Lord’, a track which made it to the chart show a mere four weeks ago. Nene’s fans have also voted a second track onto the Top 10 spot, securing the singer the eight spot with ‘Ziska Nou Old’. The track is one of two new entries on the charts this week, the second of which is seasoned artist and producer Ion Kid’s ‘Kondisyon’ featuring powerhouse Taniah at number six.

This week’s seventh position went to Tontis featuring Xtra Big with ‘Zis Pou ou’, a song which has been on the charts for a whopping 11 weeks. As if 11 weeks is not impressive enough, this week’s number nine has featured on the chart for 21 weeks, securing top spot for three. Needless to say, in ninth position is ‘Dimoun I Koz ou’ by Richie B, a piece that is being appreciated even by our Mauritian neighbours.

In 10th position this week is Katty Melanie’s ‘Dezole’, on which Faya is featured.

Each week, fans vote for their favourite artists and songs by texting the song code to 2520170 between the hours of 10am to 11am during Chicco dan Paradi, 2pm to 3pm during Cus Mun’s ‘En pti pe dan tou’ and 4.45pm to 6pm during Oriji’s The Cruize shows.
