Exchange of gifts between HC Razzak and Speaker Mancienne

The first Maldivian high commissioner to Seychelles, Omar Abdul Razzak, yesterday morning paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Roger Mancienne.

Also present to welcome the first HC Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to Seychelles were deputy Speaker Hon. Gervais Henrie, the Clerk of the Assembly Tania Isaac and the deputy Clerk Alexandria Faure.

Speaker Mancienne congratulated HC Razzak and welcomed him to Seychelles expressing his joy to have made his acquaintance.

For his part Mr Razzak equally expressed his honour and privilege to become the first representative of his country to Seychelles.

During the meeting both personalities expressed their hope and desire to strengthen the strong bilateral relationship that the two countries have established since 1980.

They discussed avenues of cooperation and common interest such as the blue economy, climate action and the development of the tourism industry.

They also discussed the prospect of initiating a friendship group between the two parliaments to exchange best practices.

Mr Razzak was accompanied on the visit at Ile Du Port by the honorary consul of the Republic of Maldives in Seychelles Lambert Bonne and the third secretary of the Maldivian HC in Sri Lanka Aishath Nihad.
