To mark 6 years of its existence, the Next Step group organised a clean-up activity on Saturday July 20, 2019.

The area that was cleaned stretches from the Amusement Centre up to the Espace Building.

The leader of the group, Sonny Dogley, said it is sad to see that a lot of people who come around in this area for lunch or socialising leave behind their takeaway boxes and empty bottles, cans, among other kinds of litter.

He said the initiative for members of the group to clean this area is because they are inhabitants of English River and therefore found it appropriate to help their district.

The group has other activities planned such as to continue with the clean-up to the Victoria North Petrol Station and the members are asking for any contribution to help and motivate them.

On Wednesday next week the group will be on La Digue for some health awareness activities in aid of Aids and cancer patients.

On Friday August 9, 2019 the group will organise an exhibition to highlight their activities done during the 6 years of their existence.

The exhibition will take place at Eden Island and for that the group would like to say a big thank you to the following: Seyhi, Emma’s Boutique, Quatre Epices Boutique, Blue Sea Car Hire, ISPC, Benny Michel, Mr Durup, Mr Pardiwalla, Saferide Car Hire, Futur 4 Buider, Mein Jewellery and Khrisnamart.
