Plaisance primary school celebrates its Pearl Anniversary with gratitude
Plaisance primary school proudly marked its 30th anniversary, its Pearl Jubilee, yesterday with a celebration honouring past and present teachers, the community, and its pupils.
The festive event, held on the school grounds, was graced by the presence of the Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin, members of the National Assembly, members of the school council, and parents. Pupils, dressed smartly and full of excitement, warmly welcomed the invited guests.
Today, Plaisance primary school stands as one of the largest primary schools in Seychelles, with over 1,000 pupils from crèche to Primary 6, supported by a team of 113 teaching and non-teaching staff. At the helm is head teacher Thérèse Athanase, who spoke on the school’s journey.
“Thirty years ago, this school opened its doors with a vision to provide quality education, to nurture young minds, and to give every child a chance to develop their full potential. Today, we celebrate not just the passing of years, but the many achievements, the countless lives touched, and the solid foundation built by those who came before us,” she said.
