A shipment of 250 metric tonnes of food grains has been dispatched from India to Seychelles, bringing encouraging news for the country. This delivery forms part of the US $175 million special economic package pledged by India, with additional consignments expected in the near future.
The initiative follows the state visit of President Patrick Herminie to India in February. During the visit, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Seychelles’ development priorities through the special economic package.
