Three senior police officers named Deputy Commissioners |23 May 2026

The Office of the President has announced the appointment of Ned Wirtz, Ron Bonnelame, and Dr Jemmy Bouzin as Deputy Commissioners of Police, effective May 21, 2026.

Ned Wirtz is a seasoned leader with nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement, security management, education, and organisational leadership. Within the Seychelles Police Force, he has served as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Regional Commander, Station Commander, National Operations Coordinator, Commandant of the Police Academy, and Head of Physical Resources. He is recognised for his leadership, strategic planning, and mentoring skills, and holds advanced qualifications in Education and Health and Safety, with specialised training in crisis management, cyber security, crime intelligence, community policing, and operational leadership.

Ron Bonnelame brings over 25 years of international experience in law enforcement and security. A former soldier in the British Royal Military Police, he has held senior roles in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Seychelles, including with the UK Home Office and the Bank of England. His expertise covers security operations, immigration enforcement, investigations, VIP protection, training, and policy development. He previously served as Deputy Commissioner of the Seychelles Police from September 2021 to December 2022.

Dr Jemmy Bouzin is an expert in forensic science and policing. He has led the Forensic Unit and Specialised Services within the Seychelles Police Force and holds a PhD in Forensic Chemistry. Dr Bouzin has been instrumental in strengthening forensic capabilities in Seychelles, with experience spanning operational management, regulatory compliance, risk management, and international collaboration.
