First mid-range condo project on La Digue launched

La Digue marked a significant milestone yesterday with the laying of symbolic foundation stones and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, officially launching the construction of 12 mid-range condominiums near Lale Kersley.

The project, part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable housing, is expected to create new opportunities for Diguois families while supporting the island’s social and economic development.

President Patrick Herminie laid the first stone at the site, followed by Vice-President Sebastien Pillay – who also oversees the Department of Lands and Housing; First Lady Veronique Herminie; Principal Minister Wallace Cosgrow; Minister for Local Government and Inner Islands Eveline Rose; the elected member of the National Assembly for the Inner Islands Hon. Rocky Uranie; as well as other ministers and government officials.
