Ombudsman reaffirms role on Constitution Day
“Constitution Day is an occasion to reflect on the constitutional order of the Republic and the principles that sustain it.
This year, it is observed in the year marking fifty years since Seychelles attained independence. It is therefore a fitting moment not only to recall our constitutional foundations, but also to consider the institutions through which the Constitution is upheld in practice.
“The Office of the Ombudsman serves as an independent constitutional guardian of administrative justice and constitutional coherence. In that role, it helps to ensure that public authority is exercised fairly, lawfully, and consistently with the constitutional order.
