Sinopharm no longer being offered as a third dose booster |08 February 2022
Sinopharm is no longer being offered as a booster of third dose, the Ministry of Health announced through a communiqué yesterday.
The Covid-19 vaccination programme using Pfizer and Sinopharm continues and the vaccination programme is now being offered at regional health centres on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
Pfizer vaccine
The Pfizer vaccine – first and second doses – are being offered to all persons aged 12 and above. Those in that age group who have not taken any Covid-19 vaccine to date can come for their 1st dose. Second doses for anyone who have taken 1st dose of same vaccine on or before January 17, 2022 (or as per appointment slips given to vaccinee at administration of first dose).
All Seychellois citizens and all GOP holders aged 18 and above who have taken their 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine on or before October 1, 2021 can come for their third dose of Pfizer vaccine.
The Ministry of Health emphasised on the fact that Pfizer can be taken as a 3rd dose regardless of which vaccine was taken as 1st/2nd doses.
Sinopharm vaccine
All residents and GOP holders aged 18 years and above who have not taken any Covid-19 vaccine to date can come for the first dose of Sinopharm.
Second doses of Sinopharm is for anyone who have taken 1st dose of same vaccine on or before January 17, 2022 (or as per appointment slips given to vaccinee at administration of first dose).
Everyone should bring their ID card/passport and vaccination card for 1st/2nd doses when attending the vaccination centre.
The following health centres are providing for both vaccines: Beau Vallon, ICCS, Anse Aux Pins, Anse Royale, Beoliere, Grand Anse Praslin and Logan Hospital (La Digue).
