Secondary and post-secondary students enlightened on fundamentals of entrepreneurship

One of the presentations

As part of activities to mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week from November 14-20, the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry organised a workshop with secondary and post-secondary students at the Seychelles Institute of Education’s auditorium on Wednesday November 16.

Attending students were informed of the definition of an entrepreneur, support provided to entrepreneurs, services available via the business technology innovation incubator, the ‘Know about Business’ integration into the national curriculum module and how to start a business. Some budding entrepreneurs spoke of their journeys and experiences and the students themselves got the opportunity to participate in a game which tapped into their creative entrepreneurial side.

Representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry (MIEI) also took the opportunity to educate the students on the role and services provided by the ministry and benefits available for entrepreneurs, through presentations from the policy team, Seychelles Investment Bureau (SIB) and the Enterprise Seychelles Agency (Esa).

The event was attended by the Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry Devika Vidot, the Minister for Education Dr Justin Valentin, other officials, entrepreneurs, MIEI colleagues, students among others.
