Teachers’ gift bazaar showcases creativity, innovation and expertise |08 October 2026

As part of Teachers’ Week activities, a Gift Bazaar and interactive lobby was held yesterday at the International Conference Centre Seychelles (ICCS), bringing together primary and secondary schools, as well as professional centres, to showcase projects, share good practices, exchange experiences, build professional networks and present innovative ideas that can be adapted across different educational settings.
Participating institutions included the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE), Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT), Seychelles Institute of Art and Design (SIAD), and the Seychelles Business Studies Academy (SBSA), among others.
The “gifts” on display represented the knowledge, experience, creativity, skills and talents that already exist within educational institutions. Some stemmed from classroom practice, while others emerged from innovative projects, professional expertise, personal interests and teachers’ commitment to improving learning outcomes.
To launch the event, the principal secretary for general education curriculum, Dr Justin Zelime, underscored the importance of showcasing teachers’ expertise, creativity and experience, while creating opportunities for professional learning and collaboration.
He noted that by sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and supporting one another, educators help strengthen the teaching profession, which plays a vital role in shaping the future of children and the country.
