President meets with relatives of the three fishermen lost at sea

The meeting between President Ramkalawan and family members and relatives of the three fishermen from the Takamaka district who have been declared lost at sea since November 16, 2023

President Wavel Ramkalawan, accompanied by Vice-President Ahmed Afif, yesterday afternoon met with family members and relatives of the three fishermen from the Takamaka district – David Suzette, Hansley Denis and Steve Burka – who have been declared lost at sea since November 16, 2023.

Also present for the meeting was the member of the National Assembly for Takamaka, Hon. Terrence Mondon; Major Hans Radegonde from the Seychelles Coast Guard; the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Antoine Denousse; the district administrator, Cynthia Hariba; Dominique Savy from the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and member of the Takamaka community, as well as other key officials directly involved with the case.
Held at the Takamaka community centre, the meeting was an opportunity for the President and his delegation to share a comprehensive overview of the search and rescue operation for the three fishermen, which spanned over a period of 11 days.  

The families were also briefed on the current status of the ongoing investigation to date. 
The family members present were also able to engage in direct discussions with the President as well as obtain answers to queries or issues they required assistance with. 
Following the meeting, on behalf of all the families present, Bernard Denis, brother of Hansley Denis, expressed their appreciation to the President and officials present for making the time to meet with them, for all efforts during the search and for their ongoing support during this difficult time.
