Hon. Gervais Henrie suspended from a sitting following social media post
Hon. Gervais Henrie has been suspended for next Tuesday’s National Assembly sitting.
This follows a ruling by Speaker Roger Mancienne, who determined that a post by Hon. Henrie on his Facebook page, making reference to United Seychelles (US) member, Johan Loze, was “objectionable” and “unacceptable”.
Speaker Mancienne gave his ruling towards the end of yesterday’s sitting, after US Chief Whip Sylvanne Lemiel had raised a matter of privilege earlier during the session.
Speaker Mancienne also noted that this is the sanction applicable for the time being, and that the matter is still under his consideration.
He noted that he may take further action against Hon. Henrie.
