PNQ addresses dilapidated second-hand armoured vehicle
The faulty, dilapidated second hand RG-12 Nyala armoured vehicle imported from South Africa for the Seychelles Police Force is still at the port as the South African company, Gibs Transport PTY (LTD) that delivered it to Seychelles has refused to bear responsibility for its deplorable state.
This was revealed by Vice-President Ahmed Afif in the National Assembly yesterday morning when responding to a private notice question (PNQ) from the leader of the opposition, Honourable Sebastien Pillay, who enquired about the status of the vehicle and whether the vehicle was returned to the company as per the government’s assurance and if there was a refund or replacement. The anti-riot vehicle specially designed for the South African Police Services (SAPS) was built in 1993.
