A chat show for the youth

On Tuesday May 20, 2025, the Eden Bleu Hotel on Eden Island hosted a dynamic and thought-provoking two-hour chat show organised by empowerment architect, Claude Bonte of Beau Vallon.

The event brought together voices from across the community to discuss key issues facing young Seychellois, particularly their reluctance to return to work in Seychelles after their studies, opportunities for business development, and the role of volunteerism.

In an interview Mr Bonte shared he came up with the idea for the chat show some five years ago but the timing to hold it was not right. The plan finally came intro fruition this year. The aim was to get the views and opinions of people from different fractions of the community to interact and have a brain storming session about the topical issues. “This is so they can collaborate for better solutions to solve problem and challenges that everybody is facing,” he said.
