Seychelles sets clear ocean goals ahead of UNOC3 conference
As of today, up until June 13, 2025, countries from around the world are gathering in Nice, France for the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
This year’s theme is ‘Accelerating action and mobilising all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean’. Seychelles is among the countries taking part, and has made clear what it hopes to achieve.
To prepare for this major event, Seychelles held a high-level national meeting on Friday at the Docklands Auditorium. Themed ‘On the Road to UNOC3: Seychelles Towards Sustainable Oceans’, the high-level event was organised by the Department of Blue Economy, in partnership with the French embassy and France’s National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD).
