Inner islands’ men in formal employment honoured

A group of men from Praslin and La Digue who have been in formal employment for 20 years or more were recognised and awarded in a small ceremony on Friday last week.

The event was held at the Chill Out Tapas Lounge Bar located at Côte d’Or and was attended by the Minister for Employment and Social Affairs, Patricia Francourt, and other officials from the ministry, district administrators for the three districts among other guests.

The achievements and loyalty of these men in their professions were acknowledged and valued, with emphasis placed on the positive impact they have made in their respective sectors and in the community in general.

In her opening remarks, Minister Francourt said this celebration not only honours individual contributions, but it is a source of inspiration for all.

“It reminds us of the importance of working hard not just for financial stability but also to help families benefit from essential services and to build a better future,” she said.
