English River secondary says no to bullying |05 July 2025

The English River secondary students and the school faculty took to the street yesterday to denounce bullying in all its forms.
The students, clad in pink, carrying placards with positive messages, left the school in town at around 10am and walked along Palm Street, Albert Street, Royal Street, Olivier Maradan Street and back onto Palm Street before ending at the school. They were joined by the school’s council, Parents and Teachers Association and the elected member of the English River district, Andy Labonte.
Speaking to Seychelles NATION, the school’s director, Steve Hoareau, said since last year the school has been hosting activities internally on the fourth of every month, to raise awareness about anti-bullying and the need to create a safe space for all students. On the specific date, students and staff wear pink, associated with celebrating diversity and inclusion. The school hosts special assemblies where students share positive messages and good values through poem recitals and songs.
