A special commemorative ceremony was held on Saturday under the theme ‘A Decade of Impact’ to mark Seychelles’ decade of leadership and innovation in developing the blue economy.

The significant milestone recognises Seychelles as a global trailblazer, being among the first nations to establish a dedicated Department of the Blue Economy and to pioneer transformative initiatives such as the world’s first Sovereign Blue Bonds, Marine Spatial Plan, the first African country to ratify the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) among many others.
