The ‘Mayor's Garden’ project in the making |30 August 2025

A collaborative effort to beautify Victoria is underway, with a team gathering last Saturday morning to clean the green area next to the Mayor’s office. This space will soon be transformed into the ‘Mayor’s Garden’.

Acting Mayor of Victoria, Lydia Charlie, explained that preparatory work had already begun. “The cleaning actually started earlier, as we needed the help of the Seychelles Planning Authority and the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA) to determine which trees could be trimmed. A team from SACOS also joined us to clean the area. Everything went well.”

The ‘Mayor’s Garden’ project is fully aligned with the 2015 Victoria Masterplan. It aims to revitalise the space, turning it into a vibrant garden that promotes community engagement, encourages positive interaction, and offers a welcoming area for both residents and visitors.
