RCSS holds refresher training ahead of September elections |06 September 2025
Over 50 volunteers and staff of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles is today taking part in a one-day refresher training at the Les Mamelles community centre. The training forms part of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles’ (RCSS) preparedness efforts for the general elections scheduled for September 27.
The session is covering a review of RCSS’s internal procedures, an overview of election procedures, coordination with key partners, and security and safe access protocols among others.
In addition, volunteers and staff are undergoing a first aid refresher focusing on potential incidents that may arise on election day.
A total of eighty-two (82) staff and volunteers will be deployed at all polling stations in the country on the main polling day. The Red Cross Society of Seychelles plays a vital role in providing humanitarian assistance during national events, including medical first aid support and emergency response. This refresher training ensures that volunteers and staff are fully equipped to respond effectively, safely, and impartially, said the organisation in a statement issued yesterday.
“The elections are an important moment for the country, and the RCSS remains committed to ensuring that our volunteers and staff are prepared to provide neutral and reliable humanitarian support when called upon.”
The RCSS said it will continue to work closely with national authorities and partners to ensure a coordinated and effective response during the electoral period.
