Eight families were presented with keys to their new residence in the district of Pointe Larue yesterday afternoon.

The occasion signifies the successful completion of Phase One of the 'Vilaz Pozitivite' initiative.

The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was conducted by the President Wavel Ramkalawan, alongside Lands and Housing Minister, Billy Rangasamy.

Among the eight new tenants was Marie Michelle Etienne, who has been on the waiting list for 19 years. “I cannot articulate the joy I feel upon receiving these keys," shared Mrs Etienne, who has been residing in various rented accommodations.
