SPGA chief executive re-appointed

Mr Cedras

The board of directors of the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) has announced the re-appointment of Allen Cedras as the chief executive, for a second term, effective August 14, 2025, for a period of 3 years.

Mr Cedras’ re-appointment has been made in consultation with the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment and the President of the Republic, in accordance with Section 75(1) of the Public Enterprises Act, 2023.

First appointed on August 16, 2022, Mr Cedras brought to the role over 2 decades of experience in the field of conservation, project management and ocean governance. His first term as CEO has delivered strategic reforms and operational modernisation, which has strengthened the authority’s capacity and helped position Seychelles as a regional leader in conservation.

Among his most notable contributions as the CEO has been the design and implementation of an effective sustainable financing mechanism which underpins the authority’s long-term operations, the championing of technology-driven approaches to monitoring, management and service delivery, and led reforms which improved governance, operational efficiency and management across the protected areas.

The re-appointment of Mr Cedras reflects the continued confidence in his vision and steadfast leadership, which will continue to drive transformative results, effective management and conservation of Seychelles’ protected areas.
