Escaped inmate Jefferson Marie captured

Escaped inmate Jefferson Marie was captured yesterday morning in Anse Aux Pins.

This was confirmed in a press release issued yesterday by the Seychelles Prison Service (SPS). It said he was captured in an operation undertaken by SPS in collaboration with the Seychelles Police.

“The arrest was made possible through the coordinated efforts of dedicated officers from both the Prison Service and the Police, following days of intensive joint operations since his escape from Montagne Posée Prison on Friday October 31, 2025,” read the communique.

Both the SPS and the Seychelles Police have extended their sincere gratitude to the public for their cooperation, vigilance, and valuable information shared throughout this operation, stating the community’s support played an important role in ensuring this successful outcome.
