PUC explains re-introduction of nationwide water restrictions

Over the past two weeks, rainfall experienced across the islands had allowed the Public Utilities Corporation to maintain normal water supply operations without imposing restrictions on Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue.

However, as the dry weather has persisted and intensified, water levels at the river intakes have continued to decline. Last week, the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) was required to re-introduce night-time water restrictions (9pm to 5am) in the north and south of Mahé, as well as on Praslin and La Digue.
