Addresses port delays, tax concerns
Potential tax exemptions for fishermen on items such as bait, along with several other sector-related concerns, were among the key topics raised during a meeting between clearing agents and customs, led by the Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte.
Minister Laporte was visiting the customs services in Port Victoria. He was accompanied by the principal secretary for Trade, Nathalie Edmond. They met with clearing agents, and representatives of the Customs Division, led by Commissioner of Customs Paul Barrack, and held a formal discussion before embarking on the site visit. The main aim of the meeting was to address bottlenecks and challenges.
