A new era for mental health care in Seychelles

 The Mental Health Care Agency Bill (2025) was approved by the National Assembly, as amended, during yesterday’s sitting, after a third reading.

The bill which was presented by Vice-President Sebastian Pillay on Wednesday, passed the vote on its general merits, but due to some errors being identified and amendments considered, it underwent a third reading yesterday after these amendments were reviewed.

In presenting the bill, Vice-President Pillay said the government is one that intends to genuinely care for its people, adding that this bill forms part of the 100-day commitments that President Patrick Herminie presented to the people of Seychelles.
