Art confronts slavery’s legacy

To mark the National Day for the Abolition of Slavery, observed on February 1, the National Library opened a thought‑provoking art and photography exhibition titled Echoes Across the Ocean at the National Gallery.
Featuring works by Seychellois artists Urny Mathiot, Egbert Marday, Leon Radegonde, Emmanuel D’Offay and photographer Michel Desnousse, the exhibition invites visitors on a reflective journey into history, memory, and identity.
