FPAC meet with Auditor General to scrutinise 2026 budget estimates

The Finance and Public Accounts Committee, chaired by the leader of the opposition, Hon. Bernard Georges, convened an important meeting with the Auditor General, Gamini Herath, to scrutinise the budget for the Office of the Auditor General for the year 2026.

This is a crucial part of the budgetary process to maintain the independence of the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) as a supreme audit institution.
