EU’s Committee on Fisheries meets with National Assembly

A delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries, led by Member of the European Parliament Emma Wiesner, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Azarel Ernesta, on Tuesday morning.

The delegation is currently on a working mission in Seychelles, engaging with key stakeholders including the Seychelles Ports Authority and Indian Ocean Tuna (IOT) Ltd. The visit aims to strengthen dialogue around the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement (SFPA). Both sides acknowledged the longstanding partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Seychelles under the SFPA framework, emphasising that continued stakeholder engagement is vital to reinforcing cooperation.
