Effective May 1, 2026, the access point for the national import permit system (e-permit) will transition exclusively to the National Digital Identity SeyID system. This strategic move replaces legacy login methods with a unified, high-security framework, signalling a new era for trade facilitation and administrative efficiency in the country.
This was announced by the Trade Division during a press conference held at its headquarters at Maison Esplanade, yesterday morning. According to Ricky Barbe, director general of the Trade Division, the primary motivation for integrating import permits with the SeyID infrastructure is to strengthen national security and enhance system integrity.
