Timeless icon renewed: Clock Tower restoration nears completion   |09 May 2026

The Department of Culture, the Arts and National Heritage, under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, is pleased to provide an update on the ongoing restoration of the Clock Tower, one of Seychelles’ most cherished and iconic national monuments.

This project is far more than a routine renovation. Guided by extensive research, technical assessments, and expert consultation, the works are being carried out with one clear principle: to preserve and restore the Clock Tower with the utmost respect for its heritage value. The restoration is a delicate and meticulous undertaking, requiring specialised expertise, carefully sequenced works, and the use of conservation-grade materials and techniques.
