National Assembly to end Wednesday sittings earlier
During the Sitting of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Hon. Azarel Ernesta, announced a new measure regarding the timely closure of Wednesday sittings.
Following a decision by the Assembly Business Committee, members will now endeavour to ensure that sittings every Wednesday conclude earlier. This initiative aligns with the nation’s ongoing energy conservation measures.
As of yesterday’s sitting, the Speaker confirmed that the Assembly would adjourn upon the closing of the debate on the Commission (for the Enforcement, Implementation and Monitoring of the TRNUC Recommendations) Bill, 2026 (Bill No. 9 of 2026). The Assembly will then reconvene on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
