The Seychelles Coast Guard (SCG) has marked a major milestone in strengthening the nation’s maritime security with the inauguration of a new 150-metre jetty at Ile Perseverance on June 29.
The official ceremony was led by President Patrick Herminie, accompanied by Chief of Defence Forces Major General Michael Rosette, underscoring the strategic importance of the facility for national defence and maritime operations.
Construction of the jetty began in mid-2025 and was completed in June 2026, following approximately one year of work.
