Flame of Hope begins its journey across the islands ahead of Youth Festival 2026

The symbolic Flame of Hope officially began its journey yesterday, marking the countdown to the Youth Festival 2026, which will be held from August 14 to 21, 2026 under the theme ‘Empowering Youth, Shaping the Future’.

The relay commenced on Mahé, where youth representative Rio Dubignon ceremonially handed the Flame of Hope to the young people of La Digue. The event signifies the beginning of a symbolic journey that will unite the three main islands in celebration of youth, leadership, and national unity.

The Flame of Hope is more than a ceremonial tradition. It embodies the aspirations, resilience, creativity and limitless potential of Seychelles’ young people. As it travels across the islands, it serves as a powerful reminder that today's youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but active partners in shaping the future of Seychelles.
