Seychelles eyes waste options as landfill capacity tightens

A workshop on the Solid Waste Management Options Analysis for Seychelles was held yesterday morning at Laila Resort, bringing together stakeholders to discuss long-term solutions to the country’s growing waste management challenges.

The workshop forms part of the World Bank-funded Solid Waste Management Project and focuses on its second component, which seeks to strengthen institutions, improve solid waste management, and promote circularity.

This component aims to reinforce regulatory frameworks, increase private sector and community participation – including women and youth – in waste management initiatives, and build national capacity to manage solid waste effectively.
