Eid-ul-Fitr - President Faure sends congratulatory message to Muslim community |25 May 2020

President Danny Faure has sent a message of congratulations to the Seychelles Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival marking the end of

the month of Ramadan.

In his message, addressed to Imam Idris Yusuf, the chairperson of the National Muslim Council of Seychelles, President Faure writes:

“I would like to express my congratulations to the Seychelles Muslim

community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival marking the end of

the month of Ramadan, a month which you have spent in fasting,

sacrifice and prayers.

“This year, in the exceptional context of the COVID-19 pandemic, you

have persevered despite having to forego the special daily congregational

prayers and gatherings that have traditionally marked the month of

Ramadan. Thank you for supporting the national efforts to combat the

COVID-19 pandemic.

“I wish you all Eid-Mubaarak. Enjoy your celebrations, stay safe, and may

God Bless you all.”
