The well-loved ‘Elite family’ as they have come to be known, has officially moved their dance and fitness studio to Paradis des Enfants in Victoria.
The move from the previous location at Espace Building took place about two months ago, to cater for the increasing demand of the services on offer and to further exceed their customers’ expectations.
Aside from being centrally located with a large parking space and on-site security officers, the studio whose main target market is children, is ideally located now in the children’s playground.
“We now also have a much bigger space to work with,” explains Emma Mothée, the director at Elite Dance & Fitness Studio. “This is very important; primarily, because it is helping us to better conform to the necessary measures specified by the Ministry of Health, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. We find this very important if we are to continue to grow as a business.”
The additional space also permits the family-run business to cater to more clients who have been on a long waiting list. This has been made possible with two larger studios and the introduction of their very own gymnastics hall.
As from January 2021, young girls aged between 4 to 10 years, will be able to start attending recreational classes in a dedicated gymnastics facility.
“Elite Gymnastics was the first club to be introduced in Seychelles, 4 and ½ years ago, and we have the most qualified coaches in Seychelles,” says Mrs Mothée.
“Our own hall here at the studio, will allow us to bring up the standards of gymnastics as we will be able to focus on specific abilities and skills, and be able to develop these further. It also enables us to cater for the growing club and to separate different groups of gymnasts for training. Clubs are very important and serve as a good way for the children to develop and for the coaches to cater to their needs.”
The new ground-floor building in which the Elite family has moved into enables everything to be in the same place, making it safer for children and more accessible. It houses the two studios, the gymnastics hall, a private toilet and shower facility for clients, and the Elite Dance & Fitness Shop which provides accessories for different types of classes.
As it celebrates its fifth year anniversary since its opening, Elite Dance & Fitness Studio remains committed to the art of dance and fitness, through its offering of various types of programmes and classes for teenagers, adults and children.
From kinder dance, baby gym and mums & bubs, to ballet, jazz funk, tap, contemporary and hip hop dancing, to strength training and conditioning, Zumba, dance cardio and barre fitness classes, the types and number of classes keep on growing over the years.
Some other notable achievements of Elite Dance & Fitness Studio over the last five years include:
1. Participation in three annual dance show performances
2. Completion of two international ballet exams accredited by the Victorian School of Ballet with 100% pass results
3. Participation in one international dance workshop
4. Participation in two international gymnastics workshops
5. Participation in three international gymnastics competitions

7. The number of students joining the Elite family tripling since the studio first opened.
Mrs Mothée holds a Bachelor of Dance from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia, among other dance and teaching qualifications. Over the years she has worked as a dance teacher, lecturer and choreographer.
Her business partner and husband, Elvis Mothée, is a fitness instructor at the studio and specialises in high intensity, strength training and conditioning classes for adults.
Looking back to when Elite Dance & Fitness Studio first opened its doors to its clients, Mrs Mothée remarks that it is great so see the growth and success of the business over the last five years. One contributing factor, she says, is their openness to feedback from clients which helps the business to grow in the right direction.
“We really appreciate having sincere, loyal clientele who trust us, and the support from all the parents and fitness clients is amazing,” she says. “There are people who have been there for us from the start and they are still here today, so we must be doing something good.”
“We see everybody that joins us as a part of the Elite family; a family which supports each other and works together for the benefits of our children and for ourselves.”
