11th death recorded and 63 new cases recorded in 3 days

 

Seychelles has recorded an 11th Covid-19 related death as 63 new cases were recorded since the last update bringing the total number of cases recorded in Seychelles to 2,464. They are from samples taken on February 19, 20 and 21.

Sixty-six (66) cases, of which 63 are Seychellois and three foreigners, met discharge criteria yesterday and have been discharged into convalescence.

The 11th Covid-19 related death was recorded on Sunday. A 58-year-old man with underlying medical conditions was admitted to the isolation centre at the Family Hospital on February 2, 2021 and died of Covid-19 related complications.

Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of Covid-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Other measures to follow:

• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained

• Practise hand hygiene regularly

• Avoid gatherings and crowds

• Avoid sharing objects

• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre.
