Health authorities investigate Covid-19 cases at home for the elderly |16 March 2021

The Ministry of Health is intensifying infection prevention and control and other measures at the North East Point Home for the Elderly, after five health care workers at the home have tested positive for Covid-19.

Residents and staff at the facility are undergoing Covid-19 tests and being quarantined according to the protocols.

The Ministry of Health can confirm that the residents, many of whom have underlying medical conditions, are well.

The ministry said it will provide more information on the situation at North East Point in its regular update today.

Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of Covid-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds.

Other measures to follow:

• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained

• Practice hand hygiene regularly

• Avoid gatherings and crowds

• Avoid sharing objects

• Practice physical distancing of more than 1 metre
