UniSey to host first ever virtual graduation |22 June 2021
On Thursday this week the University of Seychelles (UniSey) will host its first ever virtual graduation ceremony, celebrating and honouring over 200 students from the Class of 2020.
Two ceremonies – one at 10am and the other at 2pm – will be live-streamed on YouTube via https://youtu.be/zqVdQSL8a7o.
Students from Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, first Degree and Master level programmes will graduate on that day.
Given the dramatic shift in how achievements are celebrated due to the pandemic, the way we host graduation ceremonies in Seychelles had to be revised. In view of the current regulations and restrictions in place, in-person graduation ceremonies cannot take place, therefore, the new mode
is virtual.
Graduation is a lot more than just another stage of the journey for the graduates; it is a recognition of achievements, efforts, hard work and hopes for the future. Students, parents, families, lecturers, sponsors and stakeholders deserve to celebrate this achievement.
Since this year’s ceremony will be conducted differently, graduates have been informed of all the procedures to follow and how to prepare for their big day. Gowns have been collected and a video on how to wear the gown is available online @ www.unisey.ac.sc/graduation
An e-booklet will be available at www.unisey.ac.sc/graduation 48 hours prior to Graduation Day for all graduates, which they may wish to download or print as a memory of their special day.
