Dates for FPAC public hearing on OAG 2024 report announced |08 April 2026

Public hearings of the Auditor General 2024 report are set for Monday May 4 to Monday May 11, 2026.

This was announced by the National Assembly yesterday. The public hearing by the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) chaired by the leader of the opposition Hon. Bernard Georges will be from 9am to 5pm. Other members of the committee are the vice-chairperson, Hon. Churchill Gill, Hons. Sandy Arissol, Conrad Gabriel, Georges Romain, Cecile Larsen, and Gerry Sopha.

In its role of oversight, the FPAC holds the executive accountable for its management of resources, efficiency in revenue collection, expenditure of public funds and proper accounting for state assets. The committee is regarded as a key component in the process of ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability across government.

As is customary, the committee will be inviting civil society organisations to attend the hearings, playing a crucial role in informing committee members and engaging in public oversight of government spending and performance.

Media houses are also invited to cover the hearing by means of attending as observers for note taking and to carry out interviews. The hearings will be streamed live on the National Assembly YouTube channel. The parliament is also seeking the support of SBC and TeleSesel for live broadcasting.
