Insurance provider H. Savy Insurance yesterday made its annual donation to the St Elizabeth Convent, an orphanage which the organisation adopted 15 years ago.
During a brief ceremony attended by officials of the company, a number of essential items including milk powder, diapers, toilet paper, fruit juices, and an assortment of snacks were handed over.
As is customary, H. Savy Insurance (HIS) made sure to provide each of the 21 children at the Foyer de la Providence, housed within the convent.
Sister Marie Rosefine thanked the team for always extending a hand to the children at the facility, on occasions such as holy communions and confirmations, a source of encouragement for the nuns and staff caring for them at the facility.
“Each year I am touched by the generosity of Seychelles in general, especially HSI who year in and year out are here to help out. It brings joy to our hearts, to know that there are people there to push us to do the work,” Sister Rosefine said.
HIS also presented to the staff a gift hamper.
Children at the foyer are aged as young as seven months, with the eldest aged 11.
